Oribe Gold Lust vs Signature: Which Is Best for You?

Oribe Gold Lust and Signature are specific lines of hair care products by Oribe.

Each line contains a host of hair care products ranging from shampoo, conditioner, moisture masque, hair oils, etc. Depending on what you’re looking for, there are plenty of products to choose from these lines.

As you can imagine, you could have a hair repair shampoo, clarifying shampoo, repairing conditioner, and so on.

So, I’ll be reviewing specific products from the line while also covering the general differences from the entire line.

At the end of the article, I’m hoping you’ll be able to choose from either line and give your hair the best treatment it needs.

So, let’s begin.

Oribe Gold Lust vs Signature: General Comparison

The Products

The Oribe Gold Lust includes the Gold Lust Repair and Restore Shampoo & Conditioner, Transformative Masque, Dry Shampoo, Nourishing Hair Oil, and All Over Oil.

The Signature line, on the other hand, consists of the Signature Shampoo & Conditioner, and Moisture Masque. Without talking much, the difference is clear.

The Gold Lust line has more products that can easily form a regimen. If you decide to go for Signature, and you want a hair oil, you’ll have to supplement from the Gold Lust or other Oribe line of products.

As usual, Oribe continues to release new products. So, the Signature line may become fuller as time goes on.

But for now, if you want to set up a comprehensive haircare routine, the Gold Lust products may be your best choice.

General Price

Looking at the overarching price of the two lines, it’s easy to see that the Gold Lust is generally more expensive. The Signature Shampoo, Conditioner, and Masque are cheaper than their Gold Lust counterparts.

Although the price difference is slight in each case, if you’re buying a bundle, I can imagine you’ll shave some dollars off the total costs if you go with the Signature line.

If you’re buying in pieces, the difference isn’t much so it’s all for you to decide.

Uses & Benefits

For everyday use, the Signature collection seems to be the best. Most people will go with them because they’re the perfect combo for detangling, moisturizing, conditioning, and protecting the hair.

However, if you’re suffering from dry, damaged, or weak hair, the Gold Lust Collection is most recommended.

Not only does it help strengthen damaged hair, but this collection will also help smoothen your cuticles, stimulate your follicles and protect your hair from heat damage. And yes, they’re safe for color-treated hair.

I’ll first evaluate where your hair is right now. If you’re just looking for regular maintenance and don’t plan on coloring your hair soon, you may not need more than a regular shampoo.

However, if you regularly color or treat your hair with chemical processes, you need to also have some repairing shampoos/conditioners at your disposal.

You never know when the unknown will happen.

You also need to know your hair type to be able to make an informed buying decision. Just because you don’t have damaged hair doesn’t mean you can’t use the Gold Lust line.

But if you do, you can be sure it’s the best collection you can get for your hair out of Oribe products.

Comparison – Gold Lust vs Signature Shampoo/Conditioner

Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo & Conditioner

If you look at the name of the shampoos and conditioners for both Signature and Gold Lust, you can easily determine what they’re supposed to do.

The Gold Lust Repair & Restore Shampoo/Conditioner, as evident in the name, is designed for managing dry, brittle, damaged, and unmanageable color-treated hair.

It’s packed with argan oil, maracuja oil, and cypress oil to cleanse the hair of dirt and buildup without stripping off its essential oils.

If you have limp, boring, damaged hair, try the repair and restore shampoo. Its first line of action is to cleanse the hair and then add a level of protection to protect color-treated hair.

It’s cruelty-free and has UV-protecting assets and can be used on all hair types. If you have virgin hair, don’t buy this combo.

Go, instead, for the Signature combo. Some of those who used it on virgin hair complain of feeling buildup in their hair after using it.

Signature Shampoo & Conditioner

The Signature Shampoo/Conditioner is an everyday shampoo that features essential moisturizing properties that helps hydrate hair and keep hair shiny without weighing down the hair.

Aside from active amino acids, the shampoo is enriched with hydrators, essential proteins, and other hair-loving ingredients.

It’s not a great option for treating damaged hair but if your hair needs some serious moisturization and softening, then you should try this.

It is cruelty-free, safe for color-treated hair, and can be used on all hair types. If you have damaged hair, your best option is the Gold Lust combo. The Signature line won’t do much for you.

For best results, get the conditioner along with these shampoos. You’ll get results with the shampoos but for you to reap the full benefits and all the oomphs this brand has to offer, supplement with a conditioner.

In Summary

Everyday maintenance – Signature Shampoo & Conditioner
Treatment for damaged hair – Gold Bond Shampoo & Conditioner

Gold Lust Transformative vs Signature Moisture Masque

Just like the case with the shampoos and conditioners, the Oribe Signature Moisture is specifically designed to hydrate normal to dry hair while the Oribe Gold Lust Transformative Masque is designed to nourish and hydrate dry or damaged hair.

The Gold Lust is slightly more expensive but might be the ticket to hair that’s manageable and less prone to damage.

The key ingredients in the Signature Moisture Masque:

Biotin – nourishes and strengthens the hair cuticle
Shea Butter – for moisturizing hair and improving elasticity
Baobab Oil – houses vitamins that provide antioxidant benefits to hair
White Tea Leaf Extract – to soften hair strands
Strengthening Protein Blend – repair damage and restore split ends

Key Ingredient in the Gold Lust Transformative Masque:

Panthenol – for conditioning and moisturizing the hair
Japanese Bamboo – redistributes moisture and prevents dryness
Keratin – for heat protection and drying effects of thermal styling
Wild Mango Butter – to increase hair shine
Radish Root – for removing dirt and buildup in hair without compromising beneficial hair oils

By now, I believe you should be able to choose, clearly and easily, between the Signature and Gold Lust lines. I think I did justice to Oribe Gold Lust vs Signature but let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.
