We See Beauty is a for-benefit marketplace of ideas, stories and products that support the cooperative movement. A movement that believes that through shared ownership we can establish a more equitable and beautiful society for all. We believe in starting local with the hope that these ideas spread globally. By selling beautiful ideas and products, including MAKE - the first for-benefit brand of We See Beauty - we can empower local economies and strengthen communities, starting with our own in New York.

The We See Beauty Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to incubate and accelerate women-led, worker-owned cooperatives to drive large scale change. A million dollar endowment has been made to the Foundation to promote social and economic change through cooperative development: establishing more businesses that are owned by their workers. Our first project is establishing a cooperative in Brooklyn called Do Good Be Beautiful that will create and sell its own healthy cleaning and personal care products.

Our shop includes a curated selection of products across Design, Film, Printed Matter, and Well-being and speaks to the things we value: quality, craftsmanship and good design; promoting collaboration, sharing and social good. All products are socially or aesthetically-minded, meaning we personally select everything sold on the site whether a scarf made by artisans in South America, cooperative-made products or an inspired read. One-third of all sales from the shop will go to support the We See Beauty Foundation because we believe it’s important to reinvest in communities and people creating positive change.

Visions is the section on the site that encompasses our world view. Through original content, stories of beauty and selections of interesting people and projects from the web, we give context to the cooperative movement and the mission of We See Beauty, to change economies and empower communities. We profile partners in our projects, people creating change, beautiful ideas and objects that bring beauty to our lives. We invite you to see the world differently: to find beauty in the everyday, experience how other people see the world and encourage you to be inspired.
